How to Buy Crypto with Fiat in Mixin?
Mixin lets you purchase crypto directly in the app via integrated fiat providers.
Depending on your account and device, different providers and payment options will be available.

1. Before You Start
When using the Buy feature for the first time:
- New users (registered via mnemonic) will be required to bind a phone number
- Users who registered with or have already linked a phone number will not see this step
2. How Provider Selection Works
Mixin automatically selects available fiat providers based on your:
- Bound phone number (region)
- Device (iOS / Android)
Currently, two main types of providers are supported:
(1) Coinbase (Apple Pay)
Available when:
- You are using an iOS device
- Your account is linked to a US phone number
Features:
- Supports Apple Pay only
- Payment must be made using an Apple Pay–linked debit card
- Crypto is delivered directly to your Mixin wallet after purchase
For detailed instructions, please refer to this article.
(2) Aggregated Providers (via Onramper)
For users who do not meet Coinbase conditions, Mixin provides an aggregated fiat solution.
Key points:
- This service is powered by an integrated aggregator
- Multiple third-party providers are available behind the scenes
- The system automatically selects a provider based on:
1. Selected asset
2. Payment method
3. Estimated fees
Users can:
- Switch between available providers
- Choose different payment methods (card, Apple Pay, etc.)
3. Payment & Settlement
Please note:
- All fiat payments are processed by third-party providers
- Funds do not pass through Mixin
- After a successful purchase:
Crypto will be credited directly to your Mixin wallet
Arrival time depends on network confirmation
4. Fees & Promotion
Fiat purchases may include fees charged by providers.
Currently, Mixin offers a fee subsidy campaign:
- Users will receive a rebate equal to the actual fee paid
- The subsidy is calculated based on the transaction
Please refer to the campaign announcement for details.
