How to set up an emergency contact

Emergency Contact Cannot Help You Recover Your Password – Only for Receiving Verification Codes When Your Phone Number is Lost or Unavailable!

Mixin Messenger only supports phone number login. If your phone number is unavailable, how can you log back into your original account? In such cases, you need to have already set up an emergency contact in advance, allowing you to log back into your account and manage your assets in special circumstances.

Find the Emergency contact in settings

Go to your Mixin profile, then navigate to Settings > Account > Security > Emergency Contact and enable the emergency contact feature.

Enter your PIN to confirm the operation > Input the contact information of the emergency contact. > Enter the verification code received by your emergency contact. > The setup is complete.

Both you and the emergency contact must add each other as contacts in Mixin. Otherwise, the other party will not be able to receive the verification code sent by system number 7000 during the setup process.

The verification code is valid for 5 minutes. Please coordinate with your emergency contact in advance. If the code expires, the setup will fail.
