FAQ

Is there any difference between a newly created common wallet and the default one?

No. Both have the exact same functions.

If a newly created common wallet does not support viewing private keys, how can I back it up?

Newly generated wallets are TIP-derived and do not require separate backup. To back them up, simply back up your Mixin Messenger account mnemonic. See: How to back up my Mixin Messenger mnemonic?

What’s the difference between an imported common wallet and a Mixin-generated common wallet?

The interface and usage are almost identical, except:

  • Imported wallets allow viewing mnemonics/private keys, while Mixin-generated ones do not.
  • Imported wallets can be deleted, while Mixin-generated ones cannot.
