How to view my mnemonic phrase on Mixin Messenger?
Starting from version 2.0.0, Mixin Messenger supports mnemonic phrase functionality.
Update Mixin Messenger to Version 2.0.0 and Above: Download the Latest Version.
Whether you registered your Mixin Messenger account using a phone number or a mnemonic phrase, the steps to view the mnemonic phrase are the same:
Access Settings:
Option 1: On the Home Chat Page, tap the profile icon in the top-right corner > Settings.
Option 2: On the Home “More” tab on the bottom, tap the Settings icon ⚙️ in the top-right corner > Settings
Access the Mnemonic Phrase Page:
Account > Security > Recovery Kit > Mnemonic Phrase, as shown below:
View Mnemonic Phrase:
Precautions:
1. Perform the backup process in a secure environment. Do not view or back up your mnemonic phrase in public places with cameras or strangers nearby.
2. The mnemonic phrase cannot recover your PIN.
3. Viewing the mnemonic phrase will be logged under Settings > Security > Logs.
Backup Mnemonic Phrase > Backup Precautions > Enter your PIN for verification > View Mnemonic Phrase, as shown below:
For users who registered with a phone number before version 2.0.0, the exported mnemonic phrase contains 25 words. Others are 13 words.
How Do I Know If I Have Backed Up My Mnemonic Phrase?
The Account Recovery page will indicate whether the mnemonic phrase has been backed up. You can also check the logs for this information.
