# Mixin Safe Beginner's Guide

### Product Overview

Mixin Safe is a decentralized asset management platform designed with robust technical infrastructure and user-friendly features. It supports decentralized asset recovery and inheritance, making it ideal for individuals, families, teams, and institutions managing large-scale assets.

* Decentralized 2-of-3 non-custodial multi-signature wallet.
* Self-custody of private keys; co-members cannot collude to steal funds.
* Mature technologies: Bitcoin multisig, timelocks, MPC, and hardware wallets.
* Recovery options in case of lost keys.
* Inheritance feature (in development).

### Preparation
**Safe Owner Preparation**
You, as the owner of a Safe, need to prepare one software or hardware wallet per Safe. Supported wallets include:

| If you're unsure which to choose, we recommend Mornin Key developed by the Mixin team.

**For Members**
Consider who will co-manage your Safe—family, friends, colleagues, or even your other devices. Each Member must install and log into Mixin Messenger:

- Android: Google Play
- iOS: Not listed on the China & UK App Store

Each Member must:
- Enable notifications (not to miss transaction requests)

### Activate Membership
1. Visit https://safe.mixin.one/ in a desktop browser.
2. Click Login in the upper-right, and scan the QR code using Mixin Messenger.
3. Go to Settings > Membership, choose a plan, and complete the purchase.

### Create a Safe
Create your Safe based on the blockchain type (BTC, LTC, ETH, or Polygon) and wallet:

### Transfer Funds
1. Initiate Transaction
Any Member can initiate a transfer:

- Home > “New Transfer” button
- Safe list > “New Transfer” button
- Transactions > “New Transfer” button

2. Member Approvals
All Members receive a push notification via Mixin Messenger and can approve it without opening the Safe backend.

3. Final Owner Approval
Final approval depends on the wallet:
