# How to Set or Change Your Profile Picture

You can update your profile picture at any time to personalize your account.
Mixin Messenger allows you to take a new photo or choose one from your photo gallery.

## **Set or Change Profile Picture**

1. Open **Mixin Messenger**
2. Tap your profile picture in the top-right corner
3. Go to **Profile → Change Avatar**
4. Choose one of the following options:
* **Change Profile Photo with Camera:** Take a new photo using your device camera
* **Change Profile Photo with Library:** Choose an existing photo from your gallery

## **Set an NFT as Your Avatar**

If you’ve purchased NFTs in Mixin, you can set one of them as your avatar:

1. Open **Mixin Messenger → More (bottom navigation bar)**
2. Tap **Collectibles**
3. Select the NFT you want to set as your avatar
4. Tap the three dots **⋯** in the upper right corner
5. Choose **Set as Avatar** from the menu

## **FAQ**

**1. Why do others still see my old profile picture after I changed it?**
Mixin does not automatically refresh profile pictures.
Other users will see your updated avatar only when they tap on your profile picture or username.

**2. Why can’t I take a photo with my camera?**
Check your system settings to ensure Mixin has permission to access your device’s camera.

**3. Why can’t I see photos in my gallery or all of my photos?**
Check your system settings to confirm Mixin has permission to access your photo gallery or all photos.
