# How to Create a Common Wallet

### **How to Create a Common Wallet**

Starting from version **3.3.0**, Mixin Messenger supports adding wallets, including creating new wallets, importing mnemonic or private key wallets, and adding watch-only addresses.

### **Create a Common Wallet**

**1. Access the Entry Point**
Open **Mixin Messenger** → Switch to the **Wallet Home** → Tap the **top left corner** to open the wallet list → Tap the **+ icon** in the top right → Select **Create New Wallet**.
**2. Generate Wallet**
Review the notes → Enter your **PIN** to create a common wallet.

* Newly generated wallets are **Common Wallets**, derived based on TIP.
* Like the default common wallet, they do not support viewing private keys.

||| ⚠️ Once created, wallets cannot be deleted.

||| 🔢 **Wallet limit:** Higher membership levels support creating more common wallets. Limits may be adjusted in the future, but existing wallets will not be affected.

### **FAQ**

**Is there any difference between a newly created common wallet and the default one?**
No. Both have the exact same functions.

**If a newly created common wallet does not support viewing private keys, how can I back it up?**
Newly generated wallets are TIP-derived and do not require separate backup. To back them up, simply back up your **Mixin Messenger account mnemonic**. **What’s the difference between an imported common wallet and a Mixin-generated common wallet?**
The interface and usage are almost identical, except:
* Imported wallets allow viewing mnemonics/private keys, while Mixin-generated ones do not.
* Imported wallets can be deleted, while Mixin-generated ones cannot.
