# How to Change Chat Background?

Mixin Messenger allows you to customize your chat background. You can choose from the preset background colors or upload your own image.

### Steps to Change Chat Background
1. Open Mixin Settings

Tap **Profile Picture > Settings**

2. Locate “Chat Background”

Go to **Appearance > Chat Background** to modify the settings.

3. Change Background

You can either select one of the default backgrounds provided by Mixin or choose an image from your gallery.
