# How to add a phone number?

Starting from version 2.0.0, Mixin Messenger supports mnemonic phrase functionality. If you registered your Mixin account using a mnemonic phrase, you can follow the steps below to add a phone number to your account.

| Update Mixin Messenger to Version 2.0.0 and Above: [Download the Latest Version](https://messenger.mixin.one/download).

### Add a Phone Number

**Access Settings:**
* Option 1: On the Home Chat Page, tap the profile icon in the top-right corner > Profile > Add Phone Number.
* Option 2: On the Home “More” tab on the right corner on bottom > tap the Settings icon in the top-right corner > Settings > Account > Security > Recovery Kit > Phone Number.

**Access the Add Phone Number Page:**
Add Phone Number > Precautions > Enter your PIN for verification, as shown below:

Follow the Steps:
- Enter your phone number.
- Verify your phone number using the SMS code.
